Special Education Secretary
Reports to: Director of Pupil Services
Job Goals: This position is to provide secretarial and clerical support for Special Education Services District-wide. In addition, this position will assist the Director of Pupil Services with other general office duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Clerical/Office experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs
- Knowledge of PowerSchool preferred but will train
- Ability to organize tasks and complete within desired deadline
- Ability to work with minimal guidance from supervisor
- Attention to detail
- Ability to travel to multiple school sites as needed
Performance Responsibilities: Note, this list is illustrative only and is not intended to be a comprehensive list of all tasks performed by this classification.
- Assists Special Education Teachers with clerical tasks such as coordination of meetings, follow-up calls and meeting preparation (both paper and electronic documentation).
- Performs routine checks and comparisons of reports or records for compliance with specific program requirements.
- Prepares and completes mailing process of student records or correspondence
- Coordinates Special Education transportation.
- Prepares and processes record requests from other schools for student records.
- Use Student Information Systems platforms to monitor Special Education students.
- Participates in department and program trainings and meetings (on and off-site)
- Facilitates successful monitoring and completion of compliance checklists of IEPs as meetings occur.
- Assists Special Education staff in strict adherence to timelines.
- Facilitates and manages purchases and invoices for the Special Education Department.
- Performs other tasks as assigned
Terms of Employment: Year round employee.
Salary Range: $23.50 - $29.83 per hour
Salary in accordance with the Agreement between the Winchendon Secretaries Association and the Winchendon School Committee.
