We are looking for an intelligent, energetic Quality Control Technician to join our Edwardsville, KS plant. This full-time role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands-on quality work, thrives in a manufacturing environment, and takes pride in helping ensure that every product that leaves the plant meets SpecChem's high standards.

Job Summary

The Quality Control Technician is a dedicated quality-focused role responsible for ensuring that all raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods meet SpecChem’s internal specifications and customer expectations.

You will perform QC activities — testing materials and products, documenting results, and ensuring our products meet internal specifications and customer expectations — in a chemical manufacturing environment.

This role is designed for someone with prior QC experience who is comfortable working in a manufacturing environment. Laboratory experience is not required, but hands-on QC experience and a strong commitment to accuracy, safety, and continuous improvement are essential.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform quality control testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished products according to established procedures and specifications
  • Conduct routine checks to ensure powder products and materials meet quality standards before release
  • Accurately document test results, observations, and nonconformances in alignment with internal SOPs and applicable quality standards
  • Review and verify QC documentation (self-checks) to confirm completeness, accuracy, and consistency
  • Log materials, test results, and other QC information into the appropriate databases or tracking systems
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly maintained QC work area, including equipment, tools, and sample storage
  • Properly retain, label, store, and dispose of samples and materials in accordance with company procedures
  • Assist with inventory documentation and management of QC-related supplies
  • Support investigations into quality issues, deviations, or customer complaints by providing data, test results, and observations
  • Collaborate with production teams to communicate quality expectations and help resolve quality-related issues

Qualifications

Required

  • Prior quality control experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or similar environment
  • Minimum 1–2 years of quality control experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Demonstrated ability to follow written procedures and accurately complete documentation
  • Strong attention to detail and a quality-minded approach to work
  • Ability to read and write in English
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Ability to multi-task and perform at a high level in a fast-paced environment
  • Dependable, with a strong record of consistent attendance
  • Comfort working in a chemical manufacturing environment around powders and industrial materials
  • Experience working with cementitious powders or similar materials
  • Ability to pass a background check and pre-employment physical exam
  • Ability to pass a fit test and wear a respirator

Preferred

  • Prior manufacturing or production experience
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Experience with basic computer systems or databases

Note: Laboratory-specific experience is not required for this role — but solid, hands-on QC experience and a commitment to accuracy and documentation are essential.
