We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or credentialed Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while also supporting the clinic's operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals.
- Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
- Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, ensuring proper dosage and timing.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including examination rooms, kennels, and surgical areas.
- Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any changes to the veterinarian.
- Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with team members and clients.
- Assist with laboratory work, including sample collection and processing.
- Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments and managing client communications when necessary.
Requirements
- 1 year previous experience in a veterinary setting or experience in a similar role.
- Strong skills in animal handling.
- Understanding of veterinary terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A positive attitude towards animals and their owners is essential for success in this role.
