Veterinary Assistant or Technician

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Veterinary Assistant or credentialed Technician to join our team. This role involves assisting veterinarians in providing high-quality care to our patients, ensuring their comfort and well-being while also supporting the clinic's operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist veterinarians during examinations and procedures, ensuring the safety and comfort of animals.
• Perform animal handling and restraint techniques to facilitate examinations and treatments.
• Administer medications as directed by the veterinarian, ensuring proper dosage and timing.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization within the clinic, including examination rooms, kennels, and surgical areas.
• Monitor animal behavior and health status, reporting any changes to the veterinarian.
• Utilize veterinary terminology effectively in communication with team members and clients.
• Assist with laboratory work, including sample collection and processing.
• Support front desk operations by scheduling appointments and managing client communications when necessary.

Requirements

• 1 year previous experience in a veterinary setting is preferred or experience in a similar role.
• Strong skills in animal handling.
• Understanding of veterinary terminology to facilitate effective communication within the team.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
• A positive attitude towards animals and their owners is essential for success in this role.

**Credentialed Technicians: wage to be negotiated DOE. Opportunity for wage increase after probationary period.
