Responsibilities
- Follows all rules and procedures required by SPC; ensures Sheetmetal staff follow procedures and policies.
- Communicate with contractors on various projects to ensure they achieve quality work in a timely manner.
- Communicates with SPC staff and provides feedback to staff regarding the status of the project.
- Instructs Sheetmetal staff in the techniques and procedures employed in the Sheetmetal trade.
- Plans, assigns, and reviews the work of the sheet metal staff engaged in the installation, modification, and/or repair of Sheetmetal systems.
- Inspects work upon completion to determine that staff followed the necessary operations and that work conforms to specifications.
- Acts as a working supervisor in cutting, assembling, and installing ductwork. This includes:
- Capable of sealing the duct to achieve the specified duct sealing requirements
- Good understanding of the duct pressure classifications
- Capable of performing HVAC air duct leakage test with little assistance
- Ability to field measure and order duct. o Assist with daily reports.
- Minimum of 10 years industrial/commercial Sheetmetal experience.
- Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schematic form.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability, statistical inference, and the fundamentals of plane and solid geometry.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
