What are the responsibilities and job description for the Social Studies Teacher position at Spaulding High School?
Spaulding High School is seeking an innovative high school social studies teacher(s) beginning in the 2024-2025 school year.
The ideal candidate has a solid background in all areas of social studies, history, and government, especially Civics, US History, World History. Courses could also potentially include: Financial Literacy, Civics, US History, or AP Government.
We are looking for a social studies teacher who can help all students meet standards through creating and using engaging hands-on/minds-on curriculum, as well as student-centered instruction and assessment practices. Knowledge or experience with intervention and differentiation strategies as well as trauma informed practices is preferred.
A strong working knowledge of proficiency based curriculum design, instruction and grading and a willingness to collaborate with department and other colleagues is essential.
Candidates must hold or be eligible for a Vermont teaching license in secondary social studies or history (grades 7 - 12).
