Land Development Civil Engineer – Commercial SitesLocation: Medina, OHSalary: $110,000 – $150,000, plus comprehensive benefitsPicture your week: one day you’re refining a drainage network for a new convenience store; the next, you’re at a planning meeting representing your client’s interests. You’ll join a respected engineering and surveying firm in Medina with 40 years of history and a tight-knit team of about a dozen professionals. They deliver commercial site development across convenience stores, truck stops, and municipal and residential infrastructure—seeing projects from concept through construction. This is a newly created position with a clear path to leadership and the potential for long-term ownership.What You’ll DoDesign commercial site layouts, grading plans, drainage and stormwater systems, and utility plans that meet local, state, and federal requirements.Integrate survey data into plans by working closely with field crews; interpret boundary and topographic surveys to inform design decisions.Produce detailed construction drawings in AutoCAD; Civil 3D experience is strongly preferred.Prepare permit applications and submittals; respond to review comments and revise plans to approval.Attend planning and zoning meetings (typically monthly) to present and advocate for project approvals.Collaborate with architects, contractors, and client stakeholders; participate in site visits to troubleshoot and resolve design and construction issues.What You BringBachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.5 years of site development/civil engineering experience.Deep knowledge of site design, stormwater management, and erosion control.Proficiency with AutoCAD; strong preference for Civil 3D.Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Clean driving record; comfortable working on-site five days per week.Compensation & BenefitsBase salary of $110,000 – $150,000, commensurate with experience.100% employer-paid health insurance.3% retirement contribution (no match required to receive).Bonus eligibility.Opportunity for equity/ownership as part of long-term succession planning.Growth & ImpactThis is a hands-on, client-facing role where your designs become real places.
