What are the responsibilities and job description for the ASD Teacher Assistant - Sparta Middle School position at Sparta Middle School?
- Experience working with students with autism is preferred;
- Ability to be responsible for all student self-care;
- Ability to physically attend to student needs, including personal care, diapering, augmentative communication, and assistive technology devices;
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Ability and willingness to perform recess monitoring, bus unloading, and lunchroom supervision, as necessary;
- Ability to be flexible with varying student needs and schedule changes;
- Effective communication skills with a variety of staff members;
- Ability to work with children in a caring, nurturing manner;
- Demonstrates flexibility, teamwork and organization;
- Collaborate with teacher to implement differentiated instruction/ASD strategies and supports necessary for meaningful engagement in the school setting
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality;
- Hard working and a team player;
- Experience with behavior data collection and modification is preferred;
- Basic computer skills preferred;
- Ukeru and/or CPI training is preferred;
- High School diploma or equivalent required;
- One of the following preferred:
- 60 credit hours of college credit
- Associate's degree
- College Board’s SAT score of at least a 480 on evidence-based reading and writing and a 530 on math
- ETS Parapro Assessment with a passing score of 460
