What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Control Systems Engineer III position at Sparks Group?
Responsibilities:
- Program, test, and optimize control systems.
- Troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- Develop documents for new systems.
- Design and deploy control networks and panels.
- Recommend system upgrades.
- Participate in testing new equipment.
- Install and upgrade software.
- Respond to emergencies outside normal hours.
- Design and commission PLC-based systems.
- Maintain communication links to IT and SCADA systems.
- Keep backups for disaster recovery.
- Adapt to new technologies.
- Bachelor's degree and 6 years of experience ( or High School diploma/equivalent and 6 years of experience, with 4 years in direct control)
- Knowledge of PLC and HMI systems.
- Ability to program control loops and alarms.
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings.
- Ability to use CADD software.
- Knowledge of process control changes and cost-effectiveness.
- Ability to work with contractors and internal teams.
- Expert knowledge in Wonderware HMI, Siemens and Allen Bradley PLCs, SCADA systems, cybersecurity, and instrumentation.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Completion of safety training.
- Designated as emergency personnel.
- Preference for Professional Controls Systems Engineer registration in Maryland and ISA CAP certification.

Pay Range: Salary $120,000.00 to $200,000.00
