Position Summary:
The Materials Analyst is responsible for ordering and tracking perpetual inventory from external vendors. This role is authorized, with management concurrence, to expedite materials to prevent customer shortages. The Materials Analyst also sets and manages Days on Hand (DOH) levels for all incoming vendors
Position Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update vendor release schedules in alignment with changing demand requirements to support customer fulfillment.
- Build, strengthen, and sustain productive working relationships with the supplier base.
- Track and oversee the flow of all inbound materials from vendors to ensure timely delivery.
- Investigate, monitor, and actively follow up on overdue or late material from suppliers.
- Initiate and process inter‑warehouse inventory transfers as business needs dictate.
- Establish, monitor, and control Days on Hand (DOH) targets for all incoming supplier materials.
- Utilize the MRP system to generate, manage, and adjust vendor release orders.
- Perform month‑end inventory close activities to support accurate financial reporting.
- Support and participate in scheduled physical inventory counts.
- Compile and prepare documentation needed for customer obsolescence recovery claims.
- Ensure ongoing adherence to IATF 16949 quality management system requirements.
- Comply with all safety guidelines, housekeeping standards, and company policies and procedures.
- Manage assigned responsibilities in a flexible, continuous manner and complete additional related duties as assigned.
- Complete and maintain ISO 14001 environmental awareness training.
Position Requirements:
- A bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience is preferred.
- Formal training or coursework in computer information systems is desired.
- At least one year of experience supporting and maintaining perpetual inventory systems is preferred.
- One or more years of experience working with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI).
- A minimum of one year of hands‑on experience using Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems.
- At least one year of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Working knowledge of IATF 16949 requirements, including policies, procedures, and applicable work instructions.
- Experience with Just‑In‑Time (JIT) inventory concepts and practices.
- Understanding of standard inventory control methods and procedures.
- Knowledge of month‑end inventory close processes and related activities.
- Familiarity with physical inventory counting methods and reconciliation procedures.
- Experience with receiving and shipping processes, including associated documentation and controls.
