Quality Control Manager

About the Role
We’re a fast-growing manufacturer of CNC tables, automation systems, and contract-manufactured parts. We’re looking for a Quality Control Manager who is detail-oriented, process-driven, and passionate about improving product quality and efficiency. This role is responsible for ensuring that every part and finished machine meets internal standards and customer expectations, while also helping to develop the systems and documentation that drive consistent results across departments.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead Quality Control Operations: Oversee inspection and verification of incoming, in-process, and outgoing parts and assemblies for all CNC and contract manufacturing projects.
- Increase First-Pass Yield: Identify root causes of rework and implement process improvements to increase first-pass yield percentages across departments.
- Create and Maintain QC Documentation: Develop and maintain inspection checklists, test procedures, work instructions, and quality records for every stage of production.
- Cross-Department Liaison: Work closely with engineering, fabrication, machining, assembly, and shipping teams to ensure that quality standards are understood, communicated, and upheld.
- Final Product Verification: Manage and perform final inspections on outgoing machines and products to ensure all specifications, tolerances, and cosmetic standards are met.
- Continuous Improvement: Analyze production data to track trends, lead corrective and preventive actions (CAPA), and collaborate with department leads to implement long-term improvements.
- Training & Culture: Train team members on quality standards and foster a culture of accountability, attention to detail, and pride in workmanship.
- Compliance & Traceability: Ensure that production processes align with internal procedures and any applicable industry standards. Manage documentation for traceability of materials and revisions.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or fabrication quality role (CNC, automation, or related industry preferred)
- Strong understanding of mechanical inspection methods, GD&T, and manufacturing processes (machining, welding, assembly, coatings, etc.)
- Experience developing or maintaining ISO-style quality systems or internal quality procedures
- Excellent communication and organizational skills; able to work cross-functionally and diplomatically
- Ability to lead root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions effectively
Preferred Skills
- Experience with CNC machine builds, contract manufacturing, or automation equipment
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems for tracking quality data and non-conformance reports
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and 5S principles
- Comfortable creating visual documentation (photos, QC tags, inspection reports)

Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour
