Patient Care Coordinator Job Summary
We are looking for a friendly and detail-oriented Patient Care Coordinator for our physical and occupational therapy clinic. Our practice serves a unique population made up of individuals with neurologic diagnoses and aging adults. We are a busy, growing practice with 5 providers and looking for someone who can help keep our office organized.
In this role, you will greet patients, gather their personal and insurance information, verify their benefits, and take their payments and co-pays. During the process, you will ensure the patient feels at ease and that you answer any questions they may have about the facility or scheduling options. We expect our Patient Care Coordinator to maintain a professional demeanor at all times and ensure patient information is confidential. You will also be responsible for coordinating patient care with other medical offices, including requesting chart notes, faxing documentation, and verifying appointment times.
Our ideal candidate will be highly organized and able to use our existing tracking systems to make the patient experience as smooth as possible.
Patient Care Coordinator Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet patients
- Gather personal information and input into the electronic medical record
- Obtain insurance information and verify coverage
- Explain out-of-pocket costs such as co-pays
- Schedule appointments
- Ensure efficient scheduling to maintain therapist productivity
- Maintain patient confidentiality
- Communicate professionally and efficiently with other medical offices as needed
Patient Care Coordinator Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED certificate
- 1 years of healthcare front office, intake, or billing experience (preferred)
- Familiarity with HIPAA guidelines
- Proficiency with Gmail and Google Suite
- Ability to multitask and work independently
- Willingness to take initiative and problem solve
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
Hours
- Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm or 7:30 am - 4:30 pm
