Spark Community Capital is a locally owned grant writing and project management company with a growing client base in Northwestern Pennsylvania. Our clients are typically non-profits and local governments that need assistance with grant writing, grant administration and project management in order to develop and fund projects designed primarily for community and economic development.
We are currently looking for grants manager, grant writer, and overall team player who can help us make sure we are meeting the needs of our clients. Excellent writing skills, attention to detail and the ability to interact professionally with clients is an absolute necessity. Experience as a grant writer, grant administrator, and/or project manager is strongly preferred, while experience with graphic design and/or marketing are a plus. Must be familiar with Google Docs, Microsoft Office, and virtual meeting technology. Experience with Canva and/or Adobe Creative Cloud are a plus.

Position: Grants Manager
Compensation: $20-$30/hr. (based on experience)
Hours: 32 Hours per week
Start Date: As soon as possible
Schedule: Hybrid schedule with 1-2 in-person days per week in Meadville, PA required. Additional days can be remote as schedule allows. Will be required to travel to in-person client meetings in Northwest PA as necessary. Some flex scheduling is permitted, but the majority of the required hours will occur between 9 AM and 5 PM in order to meet clients, visit project sites, and collaboratively work on projects, across Northwest PA.
Job Duties:
· Serve as the lead grant writer for assigned clients
· Write and edit clear, persuasive, and well-structured grant proposals
· Manage the development of multiple grant applications simultaneously, including grant narratives, budgets, and supplemental materials
· Collaborate with Spark staff to establish scope, budgets, narrative and supplemental materials
· Coordinate project timelines, deliverables and communications
· Research and identify grant opportunities that align with client priorities
· Analyze eligibility requirements, application guidelines, and deadlines
· Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with assigned clients
· Understand client goals, challenges, and projects to provide strategic support
· Work with the account manager to develop and maintain a grant calendar for assigned clients
· Maintain accurate records of account activity and project status
· Research & summarize grant opportunities as requested
· Perform copy editing on grant narratives produced by others.
· Attend meetings with clients both on-site and virtually
· Assist with general office tasks such as responding to calls/emails from clients, tracking of time spent on projects, maintaining client files and other office duties as necessary.
