We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Radiologic Technologist lead the development and launch of our new Radiologic Technologist program. This is an exciting opportunity to shape a program from the ground up, ensuring excellence in curriculum design, accreditation compliance, and student success. This is a new program pending approval by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC).

 

The purpose of an Associate of Science in Radiologic Technologist is to provide graduates with progressive academic and clinical educational training necessary for graduates to become qualified to administer ionizing radiation for medical diagnostic imaging purposes while preparing them for future licensing examination.

 

Through knowledge gained from the Radiologic Technologist program’s didactic and clinical curriculum and from the liberal arts and sciences, the students develop the knowledge to consistently apply principles of radiologic technology and produce radiographs of diagnostic quality. The students will practice professional judgment, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and leadership through the program curriculum.

 

Graduates of the program are eligible to sit for the required national certification examination given by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and obtain state licensure. Spalding University already offers an Associate degree in Business, and adding Radiologic Technologist program to its academic portfolio reflects a strategic response to the evolving needs of the times. POSITION SUMMARY

Located in the Kosair for Kids College of Health & Natural Sciences, the purpose of an

Key Responsibilities

  • Program Development: Design and implement the Radiologic Technology curriculum in alignment with accreditation standards and institutional goals.
  • Accreditation & Compliance: Lead efforts to secure program accreditation and maintain compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Faculty Recruitment & Leadership: Hire, mentor, and manage faculty and staff to deliver high-quality instruction and clinical experiences.
  • Student Success: Establish policies and support systems that promote student achievement and professional readiness.
  • Partnership Building: Develop relationships with clinical sites and industry partners to provide robust experiential learning opportunities.
  • Budget & Resource Management: Oversee program budget and ensure efficient allocation of resources.
Qualifications:

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in radiologic technology or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Current ARRT certification and state licensure.
  • Preferred minimum of 5 years of clinical experience and 3 years in an academic or leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of accreditation standards (e.g., JRCERT).
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working across multiple academic disciplines or in a college with varied professional programs.
  • Proven ability to build and sustain external partnerships with businesses, school systems, and community organizations.
  • Successful track record in grant writing, fundraising, and corporate engagement.
  • Exceptional communication, strategic planning, and problem-solving skills.
