Senior Space Systems Engineer

SSI is seeking a Senior Space Systems Engineer for a role in Chantilly, VA.

Role and Responsibilities:

• Provides technical oversight and leadership for development, testing, integration, and operations effort associated with the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture.
• Provide systems engineering guidance in the development of test and evaluation plans, system verification plans, and other systems engineering processes and documents
• Provide inputs and support on technical and/or programmatic status reporting of individual projects, programs, or portfolios
• Identify areas of improvement with actionable, feasible recommendations, and tasks for reducing risk where appropriate as well as support risk identification, process definition, and detailed technical risk mitigation plans
• Maintain awareness of current program schedule, monitor acquisition implementation, report requirement shortfalls, and provide program assessments based on the identified risks
• Advise the Government program manager on technical engagements such as technical interchange meetings, design reviews, program conferences, and other informational meetings
  
  
  
  
  

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in science, technology, engineering, or math (STEM)
• Minimum of 10 years’ experience with satellite and ground systems
• Technical and analytic understanding of satellite and ground system interaction
• Strong experience in requirements development and tracking
• Ability to work in fast paced environment with excellent oral and written communication skills
