SPAARK is seeking an Graphic Designer / Photographer to help perform visual information services at the Daniel K. Inouye Asia Pacific Center for Security Studies (DKI APCSS). The Graphic Designer / Photographer will play a crucial role in effectively communicating the mission of DKI APCSS and promoting events at the center through compelling and high-quality visual content. This position is integral to ensuring that all design elements align with the center's goals and enhance its visual communication strategy. The role will also involve the capturing, editing, and printing of photographs for use in displays and publications and providing professional photography services for the center.
- Create high-quality graphic designs for various print and digital media, including brochures, flyers, posters, banners, and reports
- Work with DKI APCSS staff to understand design requirements and objects and ensure visually appealing, effective designs that align with the mission.
- Provide design concepts and revisions based on feedback until final approval is obtained
- Provide professional photography services for events, courses, workshops, and other activities.
- Capture high-quality images that effectively document and promote events
- Edit and retouch photographs to meet high-quality standards and print for use in publications, displays, and in support of visits or events.
- Maintain an organized and accessible archive of all photographs, ensuring easy retrieval for future use.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in graphic design, photography, visual arts, or a related field
- 5 years of experience in graphic design, including print and digital media, and photography
- Ability to design, develop, and implement cloud solutions that enhance operational efficiency and security.
- Strong creative and artistic skills, with a portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
- Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and other relevant design software.
- Expertise in photo editing software such as Adobe Photoshop and Lightroom
- Strong skills in composition, lighting, and post-processing techniques.
- Ability to print photographs for use in publications, displays, and promotional materials.
