Business Analyst – Data Extraction

Job Summary

We are looking for a Business Analyst with experience in data extraction, data analysis, and requirements gathering. The candidate will work closely with business and technical teams to understand data requirements, extract and analyze information from various sources, and provide meaningful insights to support business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and data requirements.

• Extract data from databases, reports, applications, and other business systems.

• Work with technical teams to understand data sources, data structures, and data flows.

• Perform data validation, reconciliation, and quality checks.

• Analyze extracted data to identify trends, patterns, discrepancies, and business insights.

• Prepare reports, dashboards, and data summaries for business stakeholders.

• Translate business requirements into clear functional and data requirements.

• Collaborate with stakeholders, developers, data engineers, and QA teams.

• Support data mapping, data transformation, and data migration activities as required.

• Identify data issues and coordinate with relevant teams for resolution.

• Maintain documentation related to requirements, data sources, processes, and analysis.

• Support UAT and validation of data-related solutions.

Required Skills

• 3 years of experience as a Business Analyst / Data Analyst / Functional Analyst.

• Strong experience in data extraction and data analysis.

• Good knowledge of SQL and database concepts.

• Experience working with Excel for data analysis and reporting.

• Understanding of data mapping, data validation, and data reconciliation.

• Strong requirement gathering and documentation skills.

• Ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.

• Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools.

• Exposure to ETL/data pipelines and data integration.

• Experience with APIs or extracting data from different systems.

• Knowledge of Python or other scripting languages is a plus.

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.

• Familiarity with tools such as Jira and Confluence.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
