Position Summary:
The IT Systems Administrator is responsible for maintaining, upgrading, and managing the organization’s software, hardware, and IT infrastructure to support business operations and strategic objectives. This role ensures the reliability, security, and performance of all systems while providing technical support and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities:

- Administer the Microsoft 365 environment
- Manage VMware virtualization environment
- Manage antivirus and endpoint protection platforms and provide virus/malware response
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DHCP, and DNS
- Administer VoIP phone system
- Administer physical security systems including alarm, camera and badge systems
- Administer firewall and other security platforms
- Perform regular patching and upgrades across all systems and platforms
- Perform capacity planning and performance optimization for infrastructure components
- Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure
- Identifies, researches, and resolves complex technical problems
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement new technologies to support business needs
- Administer and utilize Jira ticketing system for tracking, documenting, and prioritizing work
- Develop and maintain technical documentation, procedures, and system configurations
- Maintain strict confidentiality of sensitive information and systems
- Promote and support the adoption of AI tools and automation across business units
- Provide end-user support and manage all desktop support tickets, including acting as the primary support resource in the absence of a dedicated technician
Education and Experience:
- Must have a minimum of 3 yrs. experience working in a Systems Administration position
- Must have a minimum of 2 yrs. experience working in a VMware virtualized environment
- Must have a minimum of 3 yrs. experience with Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune)
- Must have a minimum of 3 yrs. experience with Microsoft Windows operating systems
- Must have a minimum of 2 yrs. experience supporting networks and infrastructure
- High School diploma or equivalent; Job specific certifications as appropriate
Competencies/Skills:
- Strong knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems and Microsoft 365 (Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune)
- Solid understanding of virtualization platforms, especially VMware
- Working knowledge of networking technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls)
- Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills across systems and platforms
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to use scripting languages such as PowerShell or batch to automate routine tasks and improve efficiency
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and projects independently
- Critical thinking and sound decision-making abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Ability to create and maintain clear technical documentation and procedures
- Professional and approachable demeanor with strong interpersonal skills
