5A is an acute care medical surgical unit. On a typical day, 6A has 24 patients with a 1:6 nurse/patient ratio and 1:10 CA/patient ratio.  We serve the general population of hospitalized patients with a variety of conditions. The conditions include illnesses, surgery, testing, and observation patients. We take care of patients with comorbidities like diabetes, hypertension, stroke, renal and psychiatricissues. While caring for our patients is the focus, 5A boastsa strong teamenvironment, improved nurse communication and a commitment to SOVAH Health's core values.

Qualifications
Applicants should have a current VA (or Multi-state) RN license andpossessa nursing degree from an accredited nursing school (Bachelor'sdegree preferred).Additionalrequirements include:

- American Heart Association Basic Life Support
- Experience in clinical area preferred
- Telemetry: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) American Heart Association required, or obtained within six (6) months of hire
