Incoming Inspector

Southworth International Group, Inc., located in Manila, AR, has an immediate opening for an Incoming Inspector

The Incoming Inspector is responsible for inspection of incoming materials for compliance with blueprints and specifications including back up for production inspection. This position is located at our Manila, AR facility.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Inspect raw materials and manufactured purchased items for compliance with blueprints and other specifications in order to communicate findings with Purchasing and Engineering team accordingly
• Interpret item drawings, tolerances, and layout requirements
• Interpret all product specific geometric tolerancing symbols
• Inspect painted units for good paint quality or other finishes as required
• Provide Purchasing and Engineering with guidance, direction and technical assistance with describing product issues/errors and manufacturing needs
• Develop and maintain a clean and safe work environment
• Provide customer satisfaction through quality inspections of incoming materials per design requirements
• Represent supplier needs at quality meetings and on improvement teams as required to ensure customer satisfaction

Qualifications – Skills and Experience:

• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment
• Experience reading and understanding blueprints, welding techniques, painting and metal fabrication
• Working knowledge and experience with use of measurement equipment, as required
• Working knowledge of basic computer software
• Developed communication skills and computer proficiency in MS Office
• Experience effectively communicating errors and error-prevention techniques through personal interaction based on trust, respect, communication, problem solving with individuals, and the team
• Ability to stand for 8 to 10 hours while performing the job
• Ability to lift to 30 to 60 lbs safely and consistently
• Ability to bend, twist, reach, and grasp items for inspection Must have good communication and supervisory skills and computer literacy
• Must be able to build an effective team through personal interaction based on trust, respect, communications, problem solving and individual, as well as, team performance
• Must be able to bend, twist, reach, grasp with fingers, stand for extended periods of time, and lift up to 50 pounds
