Medical Assistant (Part-Time) – Primary Care
Location: Poland, Ohio
Schedule: 30 hours per week | Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 2:00 PM
About the Role
Southwoods Health is seeking a professional and dedicated Medical Assistant for our Primary Care office in Poland, Ohio. In this role, you will work collaboratively with a clinical team to provide comprehensive, high-quality patient care. You will be responsible for a wide range of skilled administrative and clinical duties under the direction of physicians and other healthcare professionals.
Essential Duties
- Patient Experience: Create a welcoming, friendly, and professional environment for all patients and visitors.
- Clinical Intake: Room patients in a timely manner using two patient identifiers; obtain and record vital signs, chief complaints, current medications, and allergies in the patient's electronic health record.
- Specimen Management: Collect, store, and record various specimens following strict protocols; prepare lab specimens for timely transport to the hospital lab while maintaining positive specimen identification.
- Communication: Promptly report and record critical lab values, adverse reactions, and other pertinent clinical information to physicians and team members.
- Administrative Support: Manage phone calls, schedule appointments, maintain medical records, and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
- Compliance: Maintain patient rights and responsibilities; ensure the practice remains in compliance with all regulatory agencies.
Qualifications
Candidates must meet one of the following:
Professional work experience as a Medical Assistant.
Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Active certification (RMA-AMT, CMA-AAMA, or CCMA-NHA).
Required: Current AHA BLS Certification.
