Key Responsibilities:
- Support unit workflows and perform assigned administrative tasks for the department.
- Assign patient beds based on individual clinical needs and physician preferences.
- Complete the registration process for both planned and unplanned admissions.
- Scan test results into the EMR and log patient charges upon discharge.
- Communicate relevant clinical details to appropriate team members for interpretation.
- Answer and appropriately route incoming phone calls.
- Organize, maintain, and break down patient charts according to department protocol.
- Address and direct patient and guest needs to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain compliance with regulatory agency standards (e.g., OSHA, ODH, BOP, TJC).
Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of medical terminology and clinical processes.
- Proficient computer and typing skills.
- Excellent communication, multitasking, and prioritization skills.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
- High ethical standards and a professional demeanor at all times.
