Position Overview
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at Southwestern University invites applications for a one-year Visiting Instructor/Assistant Professor position beginning in August 2026. Teaching responsibilities consist of four undergraduate Organic Chemistry laboratory sections each semester. Laboratory sections meet in the afternoon.

The annual salary for this position is $63,000 for individuals with the terminal degree in-hand by August 1 (Assistant Professor) or $60,000 for individuals with the Master’s degree in-hand by August 1 (Instructor) . The position includes health insurance for the duration of the appointment period.

Qualifications
- Candidates must possess a Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemistry or a closely related field. ABD candidates without the M.S. may also be considered.
- We seek candidates who are committed to high-quality undergraduate teaching and who can engage students in learning environments that support student success. Previous experience teaching or supervising undergraduate laboratory courses is preferred.
