Southwestern College invites applications for Founding Principal Faculty positions in its newly developing Master of Science in Physician Associate Studies Program. This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of physician associate education in a mission-driven, student-centered academic community.
As a Principal Faculty Member, you’ll play a vital role in building and delivering a high-quality PA curriculum in alignment with ARC-PA Standards. You’ll work collaboratively with the Program Director, Medical Director, and other faculty and staff to create an exceptional educational experience that prepares students to become compassionate, competent, and community-minded healthcare providers.
Position Details
- Full-time, 12-month, tenure-track faculty appointment
- Reports to the Founding Program Director
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a course director and teach in both didactic and clinical areas aligned with your expertise
- Develop and maintain syllabi, instructional objectives, and assessments
- Evaluate student performance and provide academic counseling and remediation support
- Collaborate with faculty and staff on curriculum development, delivery, and program assessment
- Assist in identifying and securing clinical rotation sites (SCPEs)
- Support admissions through applicant recruitment, review, and selection
- Participate in ongoing program evaluation, accreditation compliance, and policy review
- Advise and mentor PA students throughout their training
- Maintain clinical practice and professional development to ensure content relevance
Qualifications
- Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited PA program
- Master’s degree or higher is preferred; however, candidates with a lower degree and significant clinical experience will be considered
- Current NCCPA certification and eligible for Kansas PA licensure
- Minimum of 3 years of full-time clinical experience
- Prior teaching or educational experience preferred
