Position Title: Clinic Front Desk Associate Department: Campus Clinic Date Prepared: July 2022FLSA Status: Hourly / Part TimeStandard of Christian CommitmentThe candidate must be a professing Christ follower who possesses a strong commitment to the mission and core values of Southwestern Seminary and Texas Baptist College, possess a clear understanding of Southern Baptist heritage and culture, and agrees to serve in a manner consistent with and not contrary to the current edition of the Baptist Faith and Message.Southwestern Seminary, an entity of the Southern Baptist Convention, is a confessional institution. While the Seminary serves the larger evangelical Christian community, employees must embrace the values and standards the Seminary represents as it fulfills its mission of shaping Christian leaders within our denominational context.Since duties of this position require the employee to represent the Seminary to prospective and current students, candidates must abide by the Seminary bylaws, the Employee Handbook, and the current edition of the Baptist Faith and Message. Job Summary:Assist the Clinic Physician in managing the Campus Clinic. This involves greeting patients, answering the telephone, managing patient records and appointments, and simple bookkeeping.Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Good communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with people of all ages and cultures.
  • Understanding of basic bookkeeping.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in work.
  • Greet all individuals entering the Clinic.
  • Register all patients into computerized medical record system.
  • Receive all telephone calls to the Clinic.
  • Schedule patient appointments.
  • Obtain patient payments.
  • Balance cash register daily and make daily deposit.
  • Manage insurance transactions.
  • Verify and process invoices from outside vendors for Clinic.
  • Manage office supplies.
  • Regular on the job attendance and timeliness.* Perform other related duties as assigned and specific to area of responsibility.Skills / Requirements
  • Competencies and abilities required to accomplish tasks as it applies to the needs of the organization.
  • Intermediate computer skills and familiarity with MS WORD and EXCEL.
  • Ability to easily learn new computer skills related to electronic medical records, medical scheduling, and patient billing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exhibit exemplary social skills and ensure considerate interactions with all patients and family members.
  • Must enjoy interacting with a diverse group of people from all backgrounds and age groups.
  • Exhibit a humble, patient, and collaborative spirit in order to create a healthy and vibrant work culture for the staff team.
  • Possess a strong work ethic and initiative.
  • Ability to multi-task, pays attention to detail, and be a team player.
  • Expectation to strive for personal and professional growth in leadership and general ministry effectiveness.Qualifications / Education:
  • Educational requirement: High School diploma or GED.
  • Experience: Similar work experience preferred, but not required.
  • Successful completion of background check, MVR, and credit check may be required.
  • Candidate must possess or be able to obtain a HIPAA Training Certification, training will be provided by Southwestern. Supervision:
  • This position has no supervisory responsibilities.*This position reports to the Director/Clinic Physician of the Campus Clinic.Decision-Making Responsibilities:
  • Will make decisions related to patient scheduling and payment collections as directed by the Clinic Physician within the scope of work assigned.Exposure to Confidential Information * Yes, this position is exposed to confidential information, PHI (protected health information) and HIPAA information.
