Job Summary:
This full-time instructor position is responsible for delivering exceptional instruction in assigned content area(s) that ensures academic growth and understanding for all students.
Job responsibilities:
- Employ a variety of contemporary teaching approaches or strategies to accomplish program goals and enhance student ability to achieve program outcomes
- Maintains accurate records of student’s attainment of required course competencies via completed competency checklists, assessment, and/or written/practicum exam
- Track and review student academic achievement and complete progress reports and report cards promptly and as scheduled.
- Assess academic needs of students and provide information and appropriate referral in consultation with program director.
- Maintain availability for weekly tutoring sessions or student assistance.
- Develops and maintains lesson plans in compliance with program requirements to ensure delivery of course content areas.
- Provides an encouraging and supportive learning environment recognizing student accomplishments and achievements.
- Encourages student use of technology.
- Punctually attend and positively contribute at all staff meetings, project team meetings, professional development, In-Service and special events.
- Able to withstand physical requirements such as sitting, walking and bending for long periods of time.
- Promotes school Mission amongst students.
Education and Training: Faculty hold, at a minimum, an academic degree one level higher than the level of courses being taught from an accredited program recognized by the U.S. Secretary of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) where available and academic preparation in the specific courses being taught. Instructors must have at least 15 semester credit hours or equivalent in the subject area being taught. When applicable a minimum of three years of occupational experience in the subject field or in a closely related field is required. Where applicable current licenses, certifications, or other designations are required. Additional program specific requirements may apply.
Technical Requirements: Strong organizing, planning, networking, documenting, public speaking, team building, verbal and written communication skills, and computer literacy. Able to work in a Project TEAM environment that emphasizes a customized approach to each participant’s development.
