Job Overview
The Housing Specialist is responsible for assisting with housing-related inspections, documentation, and general office support duties. This position is ideal for a dependable, detail-oriented individual who is willing to learn HUD inspection standards and housing regulations while supporting agency operations across a 28-county service area.
We are seeking a dependable applicant who is physically able to walk long distances and navigate stairs, has strong verbal and written communication skills, and is comfortable performing clerical and data entry tasks in an office setting. The ideal candidate will be able to maintain confidentiality, follow security protocols, operate standard office equipment, and demonstrate strong organizational skills, including accurate alphabetizing and record management. The ability to read and write in cursive is also preferred.
The person selected for this position must be willing and able to travel throughout the 28-county service area. A company vehicle will be provided for work-related travel. This individual must also be willing to learn HUD requirements for the inspection of living units and become familiar with the Kansas Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Attending required trainings and professional development opportunities
- Inspecting living units and homes
- Documenting deficiencies in accordance with HUD NSPIRE and/or HQS requirements
- Using tools and equipment associated with the inspection process
- Assisting with general office duties as needed
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting compliance-related tasks
- Following all agency security and confidentiality procedures
Qualifications:

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
