HEAD START HEALTH DATA SPECIALIST

Location: Chester County

Employment: Full-Time
Rate of Pay: $16.69 per hour
Work Schedule: 8:00 am-4:30 pm, 5 days per week, 45 weeks/75 hours bi-weekly

Southwest Human Resource Agency (SWHRA) Head Start is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Health Data Specialist to join our team in Henderson, Tennessee.       Essential Duties and Responsibilities

      • Assist with providing health screenings, including blood pressure, lead, vision, hearing, and hemoglobin/hematocrit (Hgb/Hct) screenings.
      • Track and monitor child health requirements and screenings, including dental exams, blood pressure screenings, hemoglobin/hematocrit (Hgb/Hct), health histories, physical examinations, lead screenings, immunizations, and health and dental insurance status.
      • Follow up with Family Advocates to ensure the timely receipt of documentation related to abnormal screening events, referrals, and other health requirements.
      • Monitor the preparation, maintenance, completion, and confidentiality of child health records to ensure all records are accurate, current, and compliant with Head Start Program Performance Standards and agency requirements.
      • Ensure the completion of all health-related records maintained by Family Advocates, including data entry responsibilities in the program data management system, and monitor the accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality of all records.
      • Generate reports and maintain health records in compliance with Head Start Program Performance Standards and agency requirements.
      • Assist the Health and Nutrition Manager with health initiatives, compliance activities, special projects, and the monitoring of required immunizations for each enrolled child.
      • Assist with and attend Health/Mental Health Advisory Committee meetings.
      • Communicate effectively with staff, families, healthcare providers, and community partners regarding health requirements, screenings, referrals, and documentation.
      • Perform other related duties as requested.

      Qualifications

      • High school diploma or equivalent required
      • Experience in data entry, records management, healthcare, or a related field preferred.
      • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and database management systems.
      • Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable privacy requirements.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to work collaboratively with children, families, staff, and community partners.
