- Position summary:
- The CS Project Coordinator is responsible for the ordering of surgical instruments and department supplies, maintaining the schedule of preventative maintenance for surgical instruments and maintaining the repairs of surgical instruments and equipment. The CS Project Coordinator will also maintain written sterilization validation instructions for all resources undergoing a sterilization process and will assist in staffing as needed. The CS Project Coordinator will provide direction to staff when the CS Coordinator is not present and will work on special projects as necessary. Must be able to plan, organize and delegate daily activities within the department. Must be able to identify and resolve instrument supply issues in a timely matter.
- MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Education:
- High School Graduate or equivalent. Prefer Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or Business Administration.
- Required length and type of experience:
- Two years prior experience in a management position in Central Supply will be considered. Comprehensive knowledge of principles of microbiology, decontamination, sterilization, and infection control; knowledge of surgical instrumentation; knowledge of principles of quality control/assurance and continuous improvement process.
- Required licensure, certification or registry:
- Central Supply Technician certification.
