The Family Resource Specialist plays a crucial role as the first point of contact for families entering SARRC's services. This role is responsible for expertly managing the entire client enrollment process—from initial inquiry to the start of treatment—and serving as a dedicated resource for autism-related questions. Success in this position requires a blend of exceptional interpersonal skills, organizational excellence, and deep empathy.
Your Role at SARRC
Communication & Interpersonal Skills
  • Active Listening & Empathy: Ability to listen attentively to family needs and concerns, respond with compassion, and convey understanding and respect in all interactions (phone, email, and in-person).
  • Clear & Professional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills to clearly explain complex enrollment procedures, program details, and autism-related resources to diverse audiences.
  • Conflict Resolution & De-escalation: Skill in maintaining composure and providing supportive, solution-focused communication, especially when families are experiencing stress or frustration.
Enrollment & Process Management
  • Case & Workflow Management: Proven ability to manage a high volume of client inquiries and cases simultaneously, ensuring timely and accurate movement of each family through the enrollment pipeline.
  • Database & System Proficiency: Competence in utilizing Client Relationship Management (CRM) software (or similar enterprise systems) to accurately log data, track client progress, and maintain detailed, confidential records.
  • Process Adherence & Detail Orientation: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure all enrollment documents are completed, required information is collected, and regulatory guidelines are followed precisely, minimizing delays.
  • Cross-Training & Flexibility: Aptitude and willingness to become fully cross-trained on all aspects of the enrollment process, from initial contact (inquiry) through service start, and adapt to evolving procedures.
Knowledge & Resource Navigation
  • Resource Navigation: Demonstrated ability to quickly and effectively identify, vet, and share relevant internal and external resources related to autism support, community services, and SARRC programs.
  • Professional Boundaries & Confidentiality: Deep understanding of the importance of maintaining client confidentiality (HIPAA compliant) and professional boundaries while serving as a supportive resource.
Required Qualifications:
  • High school diploma with further education preferred on administrative/relevant business-related topics.
  • Minimum of 1 to 2 years of general administrative experience within a highly professional environment that has included interacting with children and their family members, on a highly organized and reliable basis.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Spanish language fluency.
  • Experience serving individuals with autism or developmental disabilities.
Hours:
Full-time, Monday – Friday.
