What are the responsibilities and job description for the Behavior Consultant position at Southwest Allen County Schools?
Purpose
Facilitate the development of Functional Behavior Assessments and Behavior Intervention Plans with educational teams across the K-12 continuum. Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case conferences as requested. Provide training and coaching in areas of behavior skill development to teachers and support staff. Provide resources to promote skill acquisition in the areas of social, emotional and behavior growth.
Qualifications
Certified teacher in the state of Indiana. Master's Degree in Applied Behavior Analysis and Board Certification as a BCBA is preferred but not required. Minimum of 5 years in the field of education and/or behavior intervention. Ability to work collaboratively with school teams and parents. Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
