Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs on air compressors, power generation systems, and associated mechanical and electrical components.
- Diagnose issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics tools, and troubleshooting techniques to identify root causes efficiently.
- Repair and replace mechanical parts such as belts, valves, filters, and pumps to ensure continuous operation of equipment.
- Conduct electrical work including wiring, soldering, and testing electrical systems within compressors and related machinery.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools safely to disassemble, repair, or upgrade equipment while adhering to safety protocols.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and maintenance logs to track system performance and repairs.
- Assist with small engine maintenance tasks and heavy lifting as required during installation or repair procedures.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic with a focus on industrial or automotive repair; dealership experience is highly valued.
- Strong mechanical knowledge of compressor systems, diesel engines, small engines, and power generation equipment.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical diagnostics, and troubleshooting complex mechanical-electrical systems.
- Hands-on experience with electrical work including wiring, soldering, and electrical diagnostics.
- Familiarity with automotive repair techniques and vehicle maintenance practices.
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, and equipment repair machinery safely and effectively.
- Physical capability for manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting and working in confined spaces.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly.
- Knowledge of Caterpillar equipment or similar heavy machinery is a plus; sales experience is also beneficial for client interactions.
