Southview Acres Health Care Center is looking for a Cook to join our team!

The ideal candidate for this position has previous cooking experience, enjoys working in a busy environment and is capable of taking direction well and multi-tasking effectively. Responsibilities for Cook:

• Report to and follows directions from Dietary Manager.
• Maintain accurate food counts
• Will prep meals following Facility Recipes
• Rotate stock items as per procedures
• Ensure that the food prep area and kitchen are cleaned and sanitized at the end of your shift
• Properly store food items at appropriate temperatures and by following food, health, and safety procedures
• Prepares items to be used for next day’s meals
• Restock kitchen for subsequent shifts
  
  
  

The ideal candidate for Cook will have:

• The ability to read and follow standardized recipes
• High school education or equivalent.
• Ability to read, write and speak in English effectively to use recipes, prepare meals and communicate effectively.
• Three years of food service experience in a healthcare setting is preferred
• Serv-Safe Certification preferred
• Ability to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere
• Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures
