SBH is seeking a qualified Front Desk Support Staff in Crisis Services, who serves as the first point of contact for individuals seeking immediate behavioral health support, including those in emotional distress or experiencing psychiatric crises during evening and overnight shifts. This role is essential in Crisis Services maintaining a calm, welcoming, and professional working environment, while also promoting safety, confidentiality, and care coordination between clients and staff. Front Desk Staff must maintain accurate and timely client and service documentation and effective coordination of appointments, while supporting the day-to-day functioning of the site, including financial, records, and facility management tasks. Night shift hours are from 8:00pm - 8:00am.
Responsibilities
- Conducts administrative intake for new clients entering crisis services through the Crisis Continuum.
- Collects signatures for consent to release information, if requested by clinical staff.
- Accurately enters and maintains client information in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Answer multi-line phones, direct crisis calls, and relay messages accurately.
- Update crisis tracking board with appropriate demographics and required data.
- Schedules crisis and intake appointments promptly with appropriate personnel.
- Documents referral and intake information accurately.
- Prepare proper discharge packets from crisis programs.
- Takes, screens, and triages calls to the Crisis Services telephone line, as needed, in a compassionate and professional manner, using trauma-informed methods.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required ; Associates degree in business administration preferred.
- Minimum of 1–2 years of administrative or clerical experience, preferably in a healthcare, behavioral health, or crisis services setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong data entry and typing skills with a high degree of accuracy.
- Ability to manage confidential information in compliance with HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
- Must meet all criminal background and drug screening requirements.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record, required.
