Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator to join our team at Southrock, LLC. We build residential subdivisions and have 20 active projects currently and a multi-year pipeline of work across Central Texas. South to San Antonio, north to Waco, and east to College Station.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating various types of heavy machinery and equipment on construction sites to move materials, excavate, grade land and perform other tasks. This role requires a strong understanding of construction management software and the ability to work collaboratively with other team members to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
Duties
- Operate heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, and cranes on construction sites.
- Manage daily operations of equipment, performing routine inspections, maintenance, and minor repairs on equipment, and reporting larger repair needs.
- Collaborate with project managers and other personnel to coordinate activities on-site.
- Adhere to OSHA safety regulations and procedures, ensuring a safe work environment for oneself and others.
- Understand and apply information from blueprints, maps, and drawings to complete tasks accurately.
- Utilize construction management software, including Zoho and HCSS HeavyJob, to track project progress and manage resources.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, maintenance and repairs as well as site conditions.
Skills
- Proficient in using construction management software including HeavyJob, Bluebeam, and Zoho.
- Strong understanding of construction site operations and OSHA safety protocols.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the capability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
- Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members. A plus if you speak Spanish and English.
- Experience in residential subdivision construction is a plus but not mandatory.
- OSHA 10/30 will be required depending on the role.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $24.00 - $30.00 per hour
