What are the responsibilities and job description for the Clean-Up position at Southport Forest Products?
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain production areas, including removing sawdust, wood scraps, and debris.
- Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste materials properly.
- Train on and operate various machinery.
- Assist with basic maintenance tasks such as lubricating equipment and cleaning machinery.
- Ensure walkways and work areas are clear of obstacles to maintain a safe environment.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning routines as assigned.
- Report any safety hazards, spills, or malfunctioning equipment to the supervisor.
- Assist with other tasks as needed to support mill operations.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Experience: No experience is necessary. Experience as a laborer or in an industrial setting is a plus. Some consistent work history is desired.
- Skills: Strong work ethic and reliability. Good communication skills. Willingness to work flexible hours. High level of adaptability.
This position reports to a production supervisor and may take assignments from production leads. The Clean-Up position is responsible for maintaining mill cleanliness and safety. This includes cleaning up debris, sawdust, and other waste materials from the production area. Additional duties include learning to operate machinery, assisting with equipment maintenance, and supporting overall operations to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
Positions available on Day Shift, Swing Shift, and Weekend Relief Shift.
