Community Support Team (CST) Peer Support Specialist - Cumberland County

As our Certified Peer Support Specialist, you will provide your assigned caseload individualized, strengths focused, community-based services for the purpose of promoting the development of wellness, self-management, personal recovery, natural supports, coping skills, and self-advocacy skills. You will guide them in the development of independent living skills for housing, employment, and full community inclusion.
This is a community-based role that covers Cumberland and Harnett counties. If you love being out and about and seeing clients in the community, you may be a great fit! We provide mileage reimbursement!
Schedule
Flexible - 40 hours per week.
Pay
Starting pay is $18.00 per hour.

Full-time employees are eligible for medical benefits the first of the month 30 days after hire date. Options for a standard plan and an HSA plan with a $100 initial contribution and up to a $25 per paycheck match. 10 paid holidays and PTO hours which accrue at a rate of 10 hours per month. After 6 months employees are eligible to enroll in our 401(k) plan which has a 4% match. Company paid life insurance, short and long term disability, in house and paid training opportunities, and additional pay for working holidays. SouthLight provides mileage reimbursement.
Responsibilities of a Certified Peer Support Specialist
- Assist clients with self-determination and decision-making
- Model recovery values, attitudes, beliefs, and personal action to encourage wellness
- Teach and promote self-advocacy and wellness management
- Provide linkage to community resources
- Maintain and submit documentation (treatment plans, WRAP, service notes, service auth requests)
- Leverage Eleos AI, an innovative clinical documentation tool that reduces note-writing time so you can spend more time focusing on participant care.
Qualifications of a Certified Peer Support Specialist
- Current Peer Support Certification
- Valid driver's license with good driving record
- HS diploma or GED
- Min of 1 year working with the adult Mental Health/Substance Use population, preferably in a community setting
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Electronic Health Records
- Bilingual preferred but not required
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to frequent change in work flow based on client need and service structure
