APPLICANTS
Southlake Christian Academy is seeking a highly motivated and collaborative team member to serve as a Business Support Specialist for the remainder of the school year (2025-2026). The position will report to the Finance Director in the Business Office and serve as a utility role supporting three key areas—Finance, Human Resources, and Facilities operations. The Business Office will reevaluate operational needs at the end of this school year.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
This role is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong interpersonal skills, communication skills, and business acumen. The ideal candidate will be well-suited for a flexible, utility-style role. The information below is meant as an example. The role will adapt to operational needs based on workflows, deadlines, and special projects.
40% Finance: End-of-month processes, reconciliations, and related support.
20% HR: Background checks, contracts, and candidate prescreening.
20% Facilities: Field work, operations, and general task support.
20% As Needed: special projects and peak season in one of three areas.

DESCRIPTION
The Business Support Specialist is a single-incumbent position that reports to the Director of Finance. Under general supervision, the incumbent will perform varied journey level work, which may include finance, human resources, or facilities duties in support of school business operations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, finance, human resources or related field. Years of closely related experience may substitute for a degree on a yearforyear basis.
- Evidence of commitment to a local church is required.
COMPETENCIES
- Proficiency in accounting software: Familiarity with QuickBooks.
- Strong attention to detail: Accuracy is crucial.
- Understanding of basic accounting concepts and procedures.
- Understanding of human resources concepts and best practices.
- Willingness to jump in on facilities projects or needs or find suitable solutions.
- Commitment to working in and fostering an inclusive community.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to cultivate strong, collaborative relationships internally and externally.
- Excellent organizational skills with multitasking capability.
- Ability to handle confidential information and act with discretion.
- Ability to handle emergencies and stressful situations.
COMPENSATION
Salary is negotiable based on individual qualifications and will be set within range of comparable roles at Southlake Christian Academy.
