About the Role:

The Senior Teacher Long Term Substitute position in Southington, CT, is designed to provide consistent, high-quality instruction and classroom management during an extended absence of a regular teacher. This role is critical in maintaining the continuity of the educational program and supporting student learning outcomes across the assigned grade or subject area. The successful candidate will implement lesson plans, assess student progress, and adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning needs. Collaboration with school staff, parents, and administration is essential to foster a positive and productive learning environment. Ultimately, this position ensures that students receive uninterrupted, effective education aligned with the district’s standards and goals.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associates or Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated ability to manage classroom environments effectively.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily instruction in accordance with established curriculum and lesson plans provided by the regular teacher or school administration.
• Manage classroom behavior and create a supportive, inclusive environment conducive to learning.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback.
• Communicate regularly with school staff, parents, and administration regarding student needs, progress, and any concerns.
• Adapt instructional strategies to accommodate diverse learning styles and special education requirements as necessary.
