Position Description
LOCATION: Central, SC
CLASSIFICATION: Part-Time, 20 hours/week from June 2026 through July 2026
REPORTS TO: VP of Presidential Initiatives
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
We are seeking a motivated and personable part-time driving range technician to oversee day-to-day operations of our golf driving range facility. The ideal candidate brings a commitment to exceptional customer service, an interest and/or background in golf, and the organizational skills to keep the range running smoothly and safely over the summer months.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Open and close the facility according to posted hours, ensuring all equipment is set up and secured properly
- Collect and clean range balls using the retrieval vehicle or mechanical picker; maintain an adequate supply of balls in dispensers
- Manage the ball dispensing system and point-of-sale systems;
- Monitor the range tee line for safety, enforce facility rules, and respond promptly to any hazards or incidents
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment, mats, targets, and yardage markers; report issues needing repair to facility manager
- Provide a welcoming experience to guests; answer questions about facility policies
- Keep the facility clean — tee stations, restrooms, common areas, and parking lot
- Track daily usage and report operational data (ball counts, revenue, incidents) to the facility manager
- Enforce safety and conduct policies courteously and consistently
About our ideal candidate
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Prior experience in golf facility, recreation, or hospitality a plus
- Knowledge of golf rules, equipment, and etiquette a plus
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for extended periods
- Valid driver's license (for operating range equipment)
- Availability including limited weekend hours
- Experience with POS systems
- Basic mechanical aptitude for equipment upkeep

- Physical/Environmental Requirements
- Visual acuity necessary to do indoor and outdoor work
- May require infrequent lifting of objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally items up to 50 pounds.
- This role is largely outdoors and operates in all types of weather. From hot summer afternoons to cool mornings and occasional rain, team members should be prepared to work outside for most of their shift and remain engaged and dependable regardless of conditions.
