Position Summary
Responsible for the day-to-day operation and management of the Southern Ute Tribal Social Services Division, in accordance with the guidelines (fiscal, philosophical, and programmatic) established and approved by the Tribal Council.Manages programs and services including child/adult welfare protective services, therapy services, BIA General Assistance, Low Income Energy Assistance Program, Title IV B –Foster Care Program, Colorado State Human Services and related Programs and Contract/Grants.
This position is a grade E18; pay is $99,984.00/annually.
Education And Experience
Must have a BA/BS in a related field and 5 years of work experience in an administrative capacity in Social Work OR MSW or MA/MS in related field and 3 years of work experience in an administrative capacity in Social Work.
Must have 5 years of supervisory work experience in public/private social services agency.
Must have extensive knowledge of current federal, state and local social services delivery systems.
Must have extensive knowledge of budget development and administration.
Must have extensive knowledge in preparing written reports associated with social services.
Must have a valid Driver’s License for state of residency and be insurable under the Tribal vehicle insurance policy.
Must pass a thorough background check including Criminal History, fingerprint check, and pre-employment drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
MSW or Master’s Degree in a related field.
LSW, LPC, or LCSW.
Knowledge of P.L. 93-638 and Indian Child Welfare Act regulations and procedures.
Knowledgeable of policies, regulations, mission and administration of Social Services Department, with emphasis on those policies relating to the provision of social services.
Knowledgeable of state requirements regarding Title II Contract, Colorado State & other private contracts and reimbursement procedures for children in foster care or out of home placement.
Familiarity with the Southern Ute Indian Reservation, culture, and traditions.
Ability to speak and understand the Ute language.
