As an Assistant to the English Department, you will provide essential support to the Administrative Assistant, Department Chair, faculty, and staff in completing day-to-day operational tasks. This role includes serving as a primary point of contact at the Departments front desk, offering excellent customer service to students, visitors, and university personnel.
Key Responsibilities
Assist with routine administrative duties and departmental projects as assigned Monitor and respond to departmental emails and phone calls in a timely and professional manner Manage front desk operations, including greeting guests and directing inquiries to the appropriate personnel Receive, sort, and distribute incoming mail and packages throughout the department Support scheduling, document preparation, filing, and other clerical functions to ensure smooth daily work flow
Qualifications
Must be an enrolled SUU student for duration of employment in the English Department. Must be able to read, write and speak English fluently Basic computer skills required (Microsoft Word, Excel, Email etc.)
English Major / Minor Preferred But Not Required
