Full-time in-office Pharmacy Technician neededMonday - Friday 8:00am-5:00pm and Friday 8:00am to 3:00 pm.POSITION SUMMARY:Perform duties to support the efforts in the development, coordination, and maintenance of theinternal pharmacy department for our Advanced Prostate Cancer Patients. ROLE and RESPONSIBILITIES:Receive and process incoming prescription requests daily within pharmacy software –identify accurate pharmacy benefits; run eligibility check; enter medication, diagnosis,And submit claim(s); monitor electronic claims log; receive and respond to any rejections;ensure proper payment of claim prior to ordering medications from wholesale vendor;receive medication from wholesale vendor and label with patient information; organizeand stage all medications for pharmacist review; file and maintain log book; obtainpayment and coordinate pick-up/delivery of prescription(s) with patients.Work closely with the pharmacist (if one is hired) to accomplish administrative tasks within pharmacydepartment – establish and maintain workflow for pharmacist prescription reviewprocess; file and maintain log book, including signature log book; monthly drugreconciliation; inventory control.Responsible for accurate inventory control counts and reporting any identifieddiscrepancies in inventory control counts. Assisting pharmacist, as requested, with takingcorrective action to guard against inconsistencies in the future.Resolve complaints and grievances related to the in-house pharmacy department.Post payments into pharmacy software as they are received from payers.Interface with accounting department to accurately report revenue and expenses.Field inbound and outbound calls to patients and coordinate drug pick-up/delivery.Interface with staff at contact center and clinical sites regarding prescriptions and anypatient concerns.Stays up to date and knowledgeable on pharmacy policies and procedures andcompliance with ACHC accreditation standards.Knowledgeable about performance improvement and expected involvement inperformance improvement activities.Stays current on required annual trainings.Other reasonably related duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.Performs all duties and services in full compliance with the Southern Urology Core Values.PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are therepresentative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essentialfunctions of the job.
