Procurement Manager – Kilgore, TX

Southern Transport, LLC is a leading provider of heavy-haul, lifting, and logistics services across the nation. We’re expanding our team and seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to lead strategic sourcing and purchasing efforts that support our continued growth.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and Implement Procurement Strategies: Design and execute purchasing strategies that align with company goals and improve cost efficiency, supplier performance, and operational reliability.
• Supplier Management: Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to secure the most favorable pricing, terms, and quality standards.
• Cross-Department Collaboration: Partner with internal stakeholders across operations, maintenance, safety, and finance to forecast needs and ensure timely procurement of materials and services.
• Market Research & Cost Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends, pricing fluctuations, and emerging vendors to optimize sourcing decisions.
• Process Improvement & Leadership: Support the development of procurement policies, procedures, and documentation to standardize purchasing practices company-wide.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• MBA or professional certifications (CPM, CPSM, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of progressive procurement or purchasing experience, ideally in transportation, logistics, or industrial sectors.
• Experience in construction procurement is preferred.
• Experience establishing or refining a procurement program is a plus.

Skills:

• Strong negotiation and vendor management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); QuickBase or similar platforms preferred.

Work Environment:

• Primarily office-based role at our Kilgore, TX headquarters.
• Hybrid/remote flexibility available after successfully established.
• Occasional travel to district locations, supplier facilities, and industry events.

Compensation & Benefits:

Salary: 

• $75,000 – $105,000 (DOE)
