Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Construction Project Manager to lead and oversee residential construction projects from inception to completion. The ideal candidate will possess strong expertise in construction management, project scheduling, and site coordination, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse construction projects, in the Greater Roanoke, Lynchburg, and Smith Mountain Lake area.
Duties
- Lead the planning, execution, and closing of construction projects, ensuring adherence to project specifications, timelines, and budgets
- Develop and manage detailed project schedules.
- Coordinate with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and clients to facilitate smooth project flow
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and contracts to ensure compliance with design specifications and regulatory standards
- Oversee construction site activities to ensure safety protocols are followed and quality standards are met
- Manage procurement processes including construction estimating and contract negotiations
- Monitor project progress through regular site visits and meetings; adjust schedules as necessary
- Maintain comprehensive project documentation for tracking progress, changes, and issues
- Ensure timely resolution of project challenges through effective project coordination and problem-solving
Qualifications
- Experience in construction management with a strong background in project scheduling and site supervision
- Proficiency with construction management software tools
- Solid understanding of blueprint reading, schematics, contracts, and construction estimating processes
- Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong leadership capabilities with experience managing diverse teams on active construction sites
- Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in construction site management
- Effective communication skills for liaising with clients, subcontractors, vendors, and internal teams
- Relevant certifications such as PMP or equivalent are preferred but not required
This role is a growth driven position. The ability to adapt and improve is a vital requirement. Compensation for this role is both salary, commission and performance based, this combination provides the opportunity to personally control your own compensation with no salary cap.
