What are the responsibilities and job description for the Alignment Technician position at Southern Tire Mart LLC?
Key Responsibilities:
Perform alignments on commercial trucks, trailers, and other vehicles using alignment equipment.
Inspect suspension, steering, and related systems for wear or damage.
Diagnose and recommend corrective measures for handling, tire wear, and alignment issues.
Install and adjust steering and suspension components as needed.
Maintain accurate service records and update work orders in the system.
Operate equipment and tools safely and effectively.
Communicate clearly with service writers, customers, and other technicians regarding service needs and completion timelines.
Assist with other mechanical or tire-related work as required.
Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Skills / Education / Requirements:
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
Experience performing alignments and suspension repairs preferred.
Knowledge of alignment equipment and specifications.
Ability to lift/move tires and parts weighing up to 100 lbs., with or without mechanical assistance.
Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
