Mechanic & Vehicle Upfitter

Key Responsibilities

• Install and upfit vehicle equipment such as toolboxes, racks, lighting, cameras, PTOs, liftgates, and auxiliary systems

• Perform mechanical repairs and preventive maintenance on light-, medium-, and heavy-duty vehicles

• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues using diagnostic tools and schematics

• Fabricate and modify brackets, mounts, and components as needed

• Wire and troubleshoot electrical systems, including lighting, switches, and controls

• Inspect completed work to ensure quality, safety, and proper operation

• Maintain accurate service and installation records

• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area

• Communicate with supervisors regarding job status, parts needs, and repair recommendations

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent

• 2 years of experience in vehicle mechanics, upfitting, or fleet maintenance preferred

• Working knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems

• Ability to read wiring diagrams, schematics, and installation instructions

• Experience with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment

• Valid driver’s license (CDL a plus, if applicable)

• Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail

• Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills

• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively

• Basic welding or fabrication skills preferred

• Comfortable working in a shop and outdoor environment

Work Environment

• Shop and field-based work

• Exposure to noise, grease, and varying weather conditions

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, standing, and kneeling
