Responsibilities
- Set up and operate plasma cutting tables, ensuring accurate alignment and calibration for each job.
- Read and interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine cutting parameters.
- Program CNC (Computer Numerical Control) plasma machines to execute precise cuts based on design files.
- Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and adjustments on plasma tables and related equipment.
- Conduct quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances.
- Handle sheet metal and other raw materials safely using forklifts, cranes, and hand tools while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with fabrication and assembly teams to ensure seamless production flow and timely completion of projects.
Skills
- Proficiency in CNC laser cutting, plasma cutting, CNC programming, and CNC milling machines.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience operating press brake machines, CNC lathes, stamping presses, and welding equipment.
- Ability to read complex blueprints and utilize GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) standards for precision work.
- Familiarity with electrical discharge machining (EDM) processes and tooling setup for fabrication tasks.
- Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques, quality inspection procedures, and the use of precision measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers.
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, basic math for measurements, assembly techniques, and tooling management.
- Experience operating forklifts, cranes, or other material handling equipment safely in a manufacturing setting.
