Nurse Practitioner (Family Practice)

About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to join our team in Baton Rouge, LA. The ideal candidate will provide exceptional, patient-centered primary care in a collaborative outpatient environment. This is a contract position with stable weekday hours — no travel or on-call responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations and health assessments for patients of all ages
- Diagnose and treat acute injuries and illnesses
- Order, review, and interpret diagnostic tests, including imaging studies
- Prescribe medications and develop individualized treatment plans
- Document all patient encounters using Azalea Health EMR
- Educate patients and families on diagnoses, medications, and preventive care
- Collaborate with physicians and clinical staff to ensure high-quality care delivery
- Perform additional duties as needed to support patient and clinic needs
Qualifications
- Active and unrestricted Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) license and national certification
- Proven experience in primary care preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
- Proficiency with EMR systems (experience with Azalea Health preferred)
- Commitment to compassionate, patient-focused care
Schedule
- Monday – Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:30 PM
- Friday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
- No travel or on-call requirements
