The principal for the Long Term Care and Treatment programs oversees specialized and/or psychiatric educational programs. They serve as the instructional and operational leaders for students facing significant social, emotional, behavioral, or psychiatric challenges and work closely with the mental health agencies that provide services. The Principal cultivates a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment that supports all aspects of the educational experience. The principal uses a trauma-informed approach to prioritize students being on track to graduate, the delivery of robust classroom instruction, with an emphasis on social-emotional learning, helping students develop healthy coping strategies, and preparing students to transition back to their district. The principal leads staff in ongoing professional development and ensures special education compliance. This position builds strong, collaborative relationships with students, families, service providers, and the broader community to promote student success.
Minimum Pre-Requisites:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made

1. Oregon Administrative license.
2. Ability to work positively with diverse populations.
3. Minimum five years of teaching experience.
4. Three years of administrative experience, with experience as a successful high school principal preferred.
5. Master's degree in a related Education field.
6. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
7. Knowledge of Oregon academic standards.
8. Ability to work in a self-directed manner and support a school-based team.
9. Familiarity with the analysis of student success metrics and the development of improvement strategies.
10. Background in curriculum development, project management, strategic planning, and professional development.
11 . Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional learning.
12. Certificates as determined by the district, including a valid driver license.
