The Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announces an examination process to create an eligibility list to fill one (1) vacancy for the classification of Health Education Supervisor in the Department of Community Health. The eligibility list may be utilized to fill vacancies for this classification for up to four (4) months.
 
Responsible for supervising, planning, evaluating, and implementing the activities, operations, and staff of an assigned Southern Nevada Heath District (District) disease prevention and/or health promotion department; collaborates with internal and external stakeholders in response to public health issues in accordance with established goals, project plans, and budgets.

Education, Training, and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in community or public health education or related field and four (4) years of increasingly responsible experience in a health-related field that includes a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a lead or supervisory role; OR an equivalent combination or education, training, and experience.
  • A Master's degree from an accredited college or university in public health or health education is preferred and may substitute for one (1) year of required   experience.
Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a Nevada Driver license within six (6) months of employment.
  • Certified Health Education Specialist (C.H.E.S) certification is highly desirable.

This process may include any combination of written, performance, and oral assessments to evaluate job-related education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
